"I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you about the mission of our new retirement sanctuary that I am so passionate about.​ It is with great excitement that my husband, Henry, and I have decided to convert our farm into a nonprofit retirement sanctuary for retired senior horses and dogs. My lifelong desire to help animals runs deep, and my involvement with animal rescue, and animal welfare has been my passion for decades.

My personal experience and knowledge in animal rescue began with taking in, and finding homes for dogs when I was a teenager. As I settled into my own home, I started fostering dogs, and cats for a local shelter in Massachusetts and often adopted the hard-to-place ones. Fortunately, my husband, Henry, has always been extremely understanding and supportive when I would bring a new dog or cat home.

My acquired knowledge of horses started in my youth when I would spend every day that I could at a neighbor’s barn, and learn everything that I could about caring for horses. In my adult life, I have worked on a few horse farms and now I am volunteering at a local horse rescue in Florida. When Henry and I finally had the opportunity to buy our own farm, we quickly started fixing fences, and building stalls so I could adopt a couple of horses—Rescue Horses because that is where my heart is!

With a strong group of fellow animal rescuers behind me, as well as supportive friends and family, I am well prepared to take on this endeavor of providing a safe haven for senior horses and dogs.  The senior horses and dogs will live out the rest of their lives in a loving, safe, and supportive environment.
